A labour of love
We, the ladies, are the heart of the café in addition to the great coffee machine. We ourselves had always wanted a place to meet in our beloved neighbourhood. Since we all love hosting, a long-standing idea actually became a place for everyone: Café Rumi – your living room. Of course we had a lot of support from our families and friends along the way!
Filling this rooms with love, laughter, comfort and homemade goodness is a sacred matter to us. We all have a unique superpower (you may ask us about it) which contributes to the special vibe of the café.

Why Rumi?

Rumi is a 13th century Persian poet and scholar.
Rumi’s poetry is a journey from the state of brokenness and isolation to that of healing. His teachings show us the opportunity to go deep into love and friendship as a redemptive and transformative force in life.
We as a little neighbourhood coffee shop want to be a place in that journey. We welcome EVERYBODY as they are and provide them a space and a community to belong to. In addition to our regular hours, we enjoy togetherness in the many cultural, social and artsy events we organise for our guests. We support programs to make friendships, grow or just have a laugh.
Moreover, the phonetic sound of Rumi is just beautiful, isn’t it?
